What Am I Responsible For Maintaining?

 

Again, this can vary greatly between complexes. You are always responsible for maintaining the inside of your unit and any services that only service your lot (such as your hot water system or air conditioner). You are not responsible for maintaining the common areas or services that are supplied to more than one lot (such as shared water or sewage pipes, or a TV arial that services more than 1 lot)– the Body Corporate does this.

However, there is no general answer as to who is responsible for maintaining the roof, gutters, and exterior of the building. You should contact your body corporate manager to discuss your particular unit.
